Vor 97 Jahren wurde der Planet Erde bei einer nuklearen Katastrophe fast vollständig zerstört und die gesamte Menschheit ausgelöscht – bis auf 400 Bewohner internationaler Raumstationen. Nun wurde bereits die dritte Generation geboren, was die Mitgliederzahl auf 2.700 anwachsen lässt und somit zur Ressourcenknappheit führt. Drakonische Maßnahmen sind die Folge, und so werden 100 jugendliche Sträflinge zurück auf die Erde verbannt um zu testen, ob diese mittlerweile wieder bewohnbar ist …​
