Tarja Turunen - Act II 2016 (2018) Blu-ray
After Tarja's first live album Act I was a celebrated success worldwide and provided high chart positions in 2012, the longingly anticipated live spectacle Act II follows the Finnish exceptional artist.
Recorded as part of their world tour The Shadow Shows, in which the influential heavy rock singers circled the world 7 ½ times with over 300,000 miles driven and played over 200 shows in 40 countries and in front of a million people, Act II is more than just a live recording.
In addition to a very intimate 75-minute set of the singer, which was filmed and recorded live at Metropolis Studio in London, UK, fans will enjoy a stunning live performance from Milan, Italy as well as previously unreleased interviews and photo galleries.
The theatrical rock adventure Act II combines two incredible, yet different live performances on video:
The first chapter Metropolis Alive was recorded two months before the release of Tarja's worldwide charter success The Shadow Self (2016). Twenty winners from across Europe were lucky to experience Tarja's intimate but rocking 75-minute showcase at the renowned Metropolis Studios in London, where the most successful Finnish singer presented her new songs for the first time.
The second chapter of Act II was recorded on November 29, 2016 at the magnificent Teatro della Luna Allago in Milan, and includes numerous hits from all four Tarja albums, including Innocence, Die Alive, Until My Last Breath as well as the great Muse cover Supremacy. In addition, there are two special medleys on the tracklist: with the first medley, Tarja enchants her long-time fans thanks to the unmistakable nightwish evergreens Ever Dream, Slaying The Dreamer and The Riddler. With another potpourri, the charismatic soprano with her experienced live band lets her own songs sound in a reduced acoustic guise.
Even though the shows deliberately differ in appearance, sound, music and adrenaline levels, both have one thing in common: from the first to the last piece, you can feel Tarja's energetic performance and her graceful, charming presence.
Act I, Tarja's first live release, reached the Top 10 across Europe and shone with a sensational #5 placement in the German album charts. In her native Finland, Tarja occupied the top in the video charts over two months.
