Welcome to Module 6. This course is part of a complete 20-module Real Digital Marketing training programme. Each module can be taken individually or as part of the full series.
In this module, we focus on how to optimise and leverage your personal brand to support your wider marketing efforts. In today's digital world, people often connect with individuals before they connect with businesses. A strong personal brand can therefore become a powerful tool for building trust, credibility, and visibility for both yourself and your organisation.
We begin by exploring the difference between a personal brand and a business brand. While businesses promote products and services, personal brands represent the people behind the business. Understanding how these two types of branding work together allows you to create a stronger and more authentic presence in the marketplace.
A key focus of this module is learning how to use your personal brand to promote your business brand, and how your business brand can in turn strengthen your personal brand. When these two elements are aligned, they create a powerful combination that helps build credibility, attract opportunities, and communicate expertise.
In this module, you will also gain access to a practical 12-point checklist designed to help you develop and leverage your personal brand effectively. This checklist outlines the key elements that contribute to a strong personal brand and provides a structured way to evaluate and improve how you present yourself professionally.
We also explore real-world insights from my own experience working on projects connected with the BBC. During that time, one of the most valuable lessons I learned was how powerful branding can be when it is applied consistently and strategically. The principles from that experience continue to influence how I approach branding today, and they form part of the thinking behind the strategies shared in this module.
Finally, we look at how to clarify what you do and how you communicate it. Many people struggle to clearly explain their value or expertise, but with the right approach, your personal brand can help you express this in a way that resonates with your audience.
