Description
The world of martial arts continues to evolve, decades, after decade.
The greatest challenge is deviation from the fundamentals of the practice of martial arts.
The point system of sparring has completely eroded the fundamentals of fighting , and defending against an adversary.
The purpose of these series of lectures, with the first one, that focuses on blocks and kicks, for martial arts and self defense, shall subsequently be followed by punches, and combination lessons for the advanced martial artists, and novice,in another series of videos lessons.
The traditional way of blocking, and attacks in martial arts is based on stability, on both blocking and attacking modes.
These relies very heavily on stances for a successful outcome.
Therefore,if your stances are weak, you don't get the optimal results from your attack and defense.
For over 50yrs, I have taken part in a couple of hundreds of sparring and tournaments,a lot of my success had depended on my stances.
My preferred stance is the square stance, made popular by Bruce Lee.
I developed my right side to the opponent stance mainly for defense purposes, with some attacking abilities.
And my left stance, mainly for as attacking abilities, this allows me to use all my spin kicks and reverse thrust kicks, with little or no warning to the opponent.
I don't turn my back to the opponents and I don't do tornado kicks, since it gives too much warning to the opponents.
My strikes are very decisive strong and fast, with anticipation of reciprocal attack from the opponent,if they survive the attack.
Therefore, I am never caught off guard.
The student is advised to pay attention to the low stance for More stability,in the blocking, and attacking actions.
