Der legendäre Revolverheld Wild Bill Hickok träumt von einem Kampf mit einem kolossalen, weißen Büffel. Als er hört, dass noch ein Exemplar in den Black Hills sein Unwesen treiben soll, will er sich der Herausforderung stellen. Er reist unter falschem Namen, doch er wird erkannt. Es kommt zu mehreren Schießereien mit "alten Freunden". Von Poker Jenny hört er, dass der Büffel ein Indianerdorf zerstört hat.
